Our Policies
Introduction
British Guardianship's policies contain the safeguarding policy which is obligatory for all members of British Guardianship to read and abide by. We also recommend that all parents and students to read and understand these policies. British Guardianship recognises its responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children within the legal framework of the Children Acts 1989 and 2004. We are aware that many children and young people are the victims of different kinds of abuse and that they can be subjected to social factors that have an adverse impact upon their lives. We aim to create a safe environment within which children and young people can thrive and adults can work with the security of clear guidance.
Our policies are written and reviewed in line with the UK standards set out by AEGIS (the Association for the Education and Guardianship of International Students) and the Boarding Schools' Association (BSA). Following the frameworks of these two respected bodies ensures that every aspect of our guardianship practice meets the expectations placed on providers caring for international students in the UK.
